Free general information

WiseBenefits provides free information about Canadian disability benefits and tax credits. We are an independent publisher, not a government agency, law firm, medical practice or financial adviser. Information and calculator results are not a professional opinion about your case, and using the site does not create a professional relationship.

No purchase or email signup is required. A possible future guide is not currently for sale or available to order. Email signup is closed.

Estimates and decisions

Our tools simplify published rules. They do not determine eligibility, guarantee approval or promise a refund. CRA, Service Canada, the relevant province or territory, and tribunals make their own decisions. A qualified practitioner must certify the medical information required for the Disability Tax Credit.

The CPP Disability amount is a rough illustration, not a calculation from your full contribution record. Tax-credit estimates assume enough tax payable and omit some individual adjustments. RDSP projections have stated assumptions and do not replace your bank's Statement of Entitlement. Deadline dates are planning aids; check the decision letter and the receiving body's rules, including extensions, holidays and delivery requirements.

What we do not do

We do not prepare, review, complete or submit benefit applications or tax-credit requests, represent people before agencies or tribunals, or charge a share of benefits or refunds. Government forms are free, but practitioners or independent advisers may charge for their services.

Accuracy and corrections

Pages link to sources and identify review dates. Rules, amounts and court orders change, and errors or omissions are possible. Check the official source before acting, especially where a deadline or money is involved. Corrections: hello@wisebenefits.ca, checked at least weekly, so not for anything urgent.

Accessibility

We aim to make the site usable with keyboards, assistive technology and enlarged text. We do not claim a formal accessibility certification. If something doesn't work for you, email hello@wisebenefits.ca and we fix it first. See About and accessibility.

Privacy

Our privacy policy explains local calculator processing, the optional launch list and your analytics choices. Browsing these terms does not give consent to optional tracking or email marketing.

Links and future commercial content

External links do not mean endorsement or government affiliation. We do not control other sites. WiseBenefits currently has no ads or affiliate links. Any future paid placement or commission-bearing recommendation must be clearly disclosed beside it; any future purchase needs separate product, price, delivery and cancellation information.

Our original text and code, third-party photographs and fonts have their respective owners and licences. Nothing here restricts fair dealing or another use permitted by law. You may link to the site.
