About WiseBenefits
Free, plain-language tools that help Canadians with disabilities, and the people who support them, claim the benefits they're entitled to.
Why this exists
Some companies charge a share of the refund to help with a Disability Tax Credit application, and much of that refund comes from one box on a free form. Getting help is fine. We think people should also know the rules, what they could get, and that applying costs nothing.
What we do, and don't do
- We explain the rules for the Disability Tax Credit, the Canada Disability Benefit, RDSP grants and bonds, and CPP Disability, and we build tools that apply them.
- We don't fill out, review or submit anyone's application, and we don't act for anyone with CRA, Service Canada or the Social Security Tribunal.
- We never charge a share of a refund or benefit. Any product we sell in future will have one flat price, under $100.
- Nothing here is legal, tax, financial or medical advice. For advice about your own situation, talk to a qualified professional or one of the free services listed on our home page.
How we check our facts
We work from canada.ca, CRA's forms and guides, and the statutes and regulations on the Justice Laws website. Each page lists its sources and the date we last checked them. Benefit amounts change every January or July, and we recheck them each year.
Where we estimate rather than calculate exactly, the tool says so. For example, the provincial part of past years' tax credit is an estimate, and so is the CPP Disability monthly amount.
Accessibility
Many people who use this site live with the conditions it's about, so we build for that from the start:
- Large type in Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface designed by the Braille Institute for readers with low vision.
- Colours that meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast, in both light and dark mode.
- Every tool works with a keyboard alone and with screen readers. Results are announced and focus moves to them.
- Large buttons and answer areas, no time limits, and no pop-ups.

Who publishes it
WiseBenefits is published by 1232216 B.C. Ltd., a company based in Vancouver, British Columbia. It is a sister site to WiseWill.ca, which does the same for wills and estates in BC. We are not a law firm, an accounting firm or a government service.

If you spot something wrong, email legal@algothesis.ai with the page and the problem. We fix it and update the page's date.
How we're funded
Right now we aren't: no ads, no affiliate links, no paid placements. We plan to offer paid do-it-yourself kits in 2027, priced under $100. The free tools will stay free.
